Conservation and restoration of works of art is an interdisciplinary field, linking art with science.
Manual and intellectual skills, artistic talent, as well as knowledge and skills in the field of exact sciences and humanities make up the daily workshop of a conservator-restorer. The Faculty of Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art, which is unique on a global scale, offers the possibility of education in as many as six specialization tracks – four majors and two optional ones. They include all works undergoing conservation: easel and mural paintings, polychrome and stone sculptures, elements of architecture, graphic works, old prints and photography, antique fabric, modern art, archaeological and ethnographic objects. Graduates of the Faculty not only conserve and create technological copies, are popular artists and researchers, but also, having such a solid background, can find their way in many other fields. We present this versatility and diversity at the ONLINE 2020 exhibition – these are the best artistic and conservation projects of our students.
