Description
The work is both a statement about the Lublin region and a political and social commentary. We therefore refer to the incident in Lubartów where a young activist from Lublin got into a minor discussion with President Duda. A discussion that once again revealed the logical errors of present national authorities in the subject of counteracting climate change. The action is based on the preparation of a piece of news about recent government activities aimed at combating global warming by gradually cooling the climate. The news proclaim that they would implement these assumptions by converting wind farms through installation of new blades (visually resembling those known from office fans). It is also not without significance that the government sees power in coal energy and in Territorial Defense Forces. For this purpose, we have created a visualization of the solution, and thus, we created the figure of the deputy minister of the environment - Krzysztof B. Zefirek, who, personifying the features of politicians from the turn of the millennium, speaks at a press conference. Our action is to illustrate the fine line at this moment between fake news and the latest reports from the Sejm. We used techniques of manipulating the content and reports from the country, commonly used by pro-governmental media. The video construction gradually adds further information burdens, changing this balance all the time. Social immunity to the absurd delays the moment when we verify what is and what does not have to be true.
