The urban heat island is a phenomenon
which occurs in large cities,
including the center of Warsaw.
It is due to
urban planning of the city: building in
air corridors (e.g. Wilanów, Marina), creating concrete
deserts, cutting down greenery,
drainage of natural watercourses
. Heating effect
and heat accumulation in the city
are additionally magnified by
climate change.
My project is a commentary
and an attempt to draw attention to
this issue. I have decided
on the form of animation using
photographs of urban concrete
architecture.
