The exhibition of works by students of
the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw
An extremely important element of education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw is cultivating tradition. One of them is omnis communicationis of the exhibitions of students at the end of the year.
In the educational dialogue, we value effective direct teaching the most, but this year COVID-19 forced the entire academic community to work remotely. Fortunately, over the past 20 years, we have acquired new communication techniques that we could have now used.
From March 2020, distance learning has become a necessity for us so that the 2019/2020 academic year cound end on September 30th. Distance learning – among students as well as among teachers – has abolished the division between the private and the professional. This has brought about many difficulties, overcome with greater or lesser success by all of us.
I am convinced that the experience of distance learning will translate into the dissemination of the modern formula that will enrich teachers with new teaching methods and develop the knowledge absorption skills of students.
I am pleased to open the first edition of “ONLINE 2020: exhibition of student works” in over a century old history of the Academy in Warsaw.
We are pleased that so many completed the undertaken artistic, research and design challenges during the pandemic semester, and the results of their work – from each course of study and level of education from nine faculties – are presented in an online exhibition.
Thus, I would like to express my special thanks to all teachers for their involvement in the teaching process and to students and doctoral students for their persistence in following the chosen artistic path.
